God calls Abram to leave his homeland for Canaan, promising him the land and descendants as numerous as the stars. The parsha covers the covenant of the pieces, Ishmael's birth to Hagar, and the covenant of circumcision that renames Abram and Sarai as Abraham and Sarah.
