How Long Does It Take to Learn the Hebrew Alphabet?
Most adults read the letters within a week or two of short daily sessions; the alphabet itself is small, and several letters share sounds in modern Hebrew (kaf/kuf, tet/tav, chet/khaf), which shortens the list of sounds you actually need to learn. Reading unvowelled text quickly and confidently takes longer, because it is a fluency skill built by reading, not a fact about the alphabet.
Handwriting is a separate step. Israeli schools teach the cursive forms directly after print, and several letters change shape enough between the two that they are worth learning as their own thing: see the notes on each letter below, or the print-versus-handwriting comparison on the cursive page.

How many letters are in the Hebrew alphabet?
Twenty-two. Five of them (kaf, mem, nun, pe and tsadi) have a second, final form used only at the end of a word, so you will sometimes see 27 shapes counted instead.
Are there vowels in the Hebrew alphabet?
Not as separate letters. Vowels are written as small marks called nikud above, below or inside a letter; everyday print mostly leaves them out once you can read. See the nikud page for all fourteen marks.
What order are the Hebrew letters in?
Alef through tav, the order the alphabet has kept since the Phoenician script it descends from. It is also the order gematria values follow: alef is 1, bet is 2, up through tav at 400.
