God reaffirms His covenant and sends Moses and Aaron back to Pharaoh with a demand to free the Israelites. The first seven plagues strike Egypt (blood, frogs, lice, wild beasts, pestilence, boils, and hail) as Pharaoh repeatedly hardens his heart.
