כִּי תִשָּׂא

A census, the half-shekel offering, and the laver precede the sin of the Golden Calf, made while Moses is on the mountain. Moses breaks the tablets, pleads for the nation, and returns with a second set of the Ten Commandments along with the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy.
