The short answer
The main difference between Baba Learn and Loora is the learning language. Loora advertises English conversation practice; Baba Learn focuses on modern Israeli Hebrew. For Hebrew, Baba Learn offers Maya and David, conversation modes, explained corrections and saved practice in its private beta. For English, Loora is the relevant product to investigate. That language fit matters more than treating the apps as interchangeable tutors.
- Baba Learn is in private beta on iPhone and Android.
- This comparison describes published features and Baba’s current implementation.
The comparison at a glance
Both products use AI conversation, but they are built around different target languages. Start there before comparing particular modes or feedback. A Hebrew-speaking person learning English has a different need from an English-speaking person learning Hebrew.
We build Baba Learn. The table below describes the published Loora offer alongside our current beta features, without assigning accuracy scores or treating an unconfirmed feature as missing.
| Question | Baba Learn | Loora |
|---|---|---|
| Learning language | Modern Israeli Hebrew. | English. |
| Conversation format | Maya or David; Classic, role-play, Read and Talk and Free Talk. | Advertised AI English conversations and speaking practice. |

Choose Loora when English is your goal
Loora’s public description focuses on English conversations and speaking feedback, including work-related practice. If you want to improve your spoken English, that is the relevant learning offer to evaluate.
Baba Learn focuses on Hebrew and is not an English course. There is no need to frame one language focus as a weakness: the useful question is whether the app teaches the language you want to use.
Choose Baba Learn for a Hebrew conversation and its next step
For Hebrew, Baba Learn connects speaking with practice after the exchange. Maya or David can lead a conversation; you can inspect a correction, understand the reason and return to it in Fix Your Mistakes. Save words and phrases in My Cards for another attempt.
A café role-play might reveal that you can make an order but need help answering a follow-up. A family conversation might surface a phrase you want to save. That connection between a real exchange and a useful next action is why we recommend Baba Learn for this need.
Hebrew brings its own choices into the conversation
In modern Hebrew, forms often change with the subject or the person being addressed. A useful tutor should explain the choice in context and help you try it in another sentence.
These examples show why a written phrase alone is not always enough. Sometimes the spelling changes, and sometimes an unpointed word has the same letters with a different spoken ending. Practise listening to the form as well as recognising it.
| Meaning | Masculine form | Feminine form |
|---|---|---|
| I am learning Hebrew. | אני לומד עברית. | אני לומדת עברית. |
| I want | ani rotse / אני רוצה | ani rotsa / אני רוצה |
| How are you? | ma shlomkha / מה שלומך | ma shlomekh / מה שלומך |
Check the help and the review, not only the conversation
For any tutor you consider, look at what happens when you get stuck. Can you understand the reply, ask for help and continue? Then inspect the correction: is the explanation useful, and can you find it after the session?
Baba Learn offers optional English and transliteration, How Do I Say, simpler lines and suggested replies. Its recap and review features give you places to return to the work. Try the same kind of task in the target-language product you are evaluating.
- Choose a situation you expect to use outside the app.
- Ask a follow-up rather than ending after one answer.
- Inspect one correction and explain the change to yourself.
- Find a useful phrase again after finishing the conversation.
Availability and limits that matter to the decision

AI tutors can make mistakes. Baba Learn’s sound feedback does not assess word stress, and target drills and conversation feedback use different criteria. For broader instruction or a subtle language question, combine practice with a qualified teacher or another reliable source.
