What Misrad HaKlita does
Nefesh B’Nefesh describes Misrad HaKlita as the office responsible for the rights and benefits of olim and for employment guidance. In practice that means the sal klita payments, the referral to a free ulpan, advice on local resources, and later the dmei kiyum living allowance for eligible olim who are not yet working. Student benefits are handled by its Student Authority, מינהל הסטודנטים (minhal ha-studentim).
It is not the office for your ID card or your address: that is Misrad HaPnim, the Population and Immigration Authority. People mix the two up because both names start with “misrad”. See Misrad HaPnim and the map of government offices.
The first meeting, step by step
This follows the Nefesh B’Nefesh first-steps guide for olim who arrived on an aliyah flight.
Book by phone
Call *2994 to book at your local branch. Nefesh B’Nefesh notes this is booked by phone, not on the myvisit site, and that an English prompt follows the Hebrew greeting.
One meeting per family
Only one appointment is needed per family. Where relevant, both spouses come; children do not need to.
Bring these
Your Teudat Oleh or Teudat Zakaut, your Teudat Zehut, and the form your bank stamped when you opened the account. Book even if your Teudat Zehut has not arrived yet.
What you leave with
Confirmation of the dates your sal klita will be deposited, information and registration vouchers for local ulpan programs, and advice on oleh resources in your area.
Open your personal area
With a gov.il account you can use the ministry’s personal area to confirm payments and write to your counselor.
