אחלה
/AHKHlah/
Awesome, great, excellent, brilliant
Achla (אחלה, pronounced AHKHlah) means "awesome", "great", or "excellent" in Israeli slang, borrowed from Arabic. It's stronger than sababa — if sababa is a casual "cool", achla is genuine enthusiasm. Israelis use it for food, people, experiences, and situations they find truly great.

The Hebrew script reads right-to-left. The English transliteration uses the Israeli Sephardic pronunciation standard.
Stronger than "sababa" — achla expresses genuine enthusiasm. If sababa is "cool", achla is "that's amazing." Used for food, experiences, people, and situations. Achla often comes at the beginning of a sentence: "Achla hayu!" (That was awesome!).
