Modern recycling: Israel's main battle tank, developed from the 1970s and in service from 1979 per standard IDF/defense-press accounts — the name deliberately layers ancient fire-and-wheels imagery onto the machine.

"Merkava" in modern Israel is primarily a *tank*; and "Merkava mysticism" is pre-Kabbalah (Heikhalot period, late antiquity) — don't collapse all mysticism into Kabbalah.
