# Hebrew for Passover

Israelis say Pesach, not Passover, once they switch to Hebrew. The greeting is chag sameach; the stricter version adds kasher.

פסח. Wednesday 21 April – Wednesday 28 April 2027.

## What do you say?

| Hebrew | Transliteration | English |
| --- | --- | --- |
| חג פסח שמח | Chag Pesach sameach | Happy Passover |
| חג כשר ושמח | Chag kasher ve-sameach | A kosher and happy holiday |
| מה נשתנה | Mah nishtanah | Why is this night different? |
